Congress Heights, one of the largest neighborhoods in Southeast Washington, is situated along Martin Luther King Jr. and Malcolm X Avenues. While the area is primarily residential, it does contain the largest commercial district in the Southeast quadrant. Nearly $750 million have been invested in the past decade, creating more than 2,500 new housing opportunities. Additional developments, including the U.S. Coast Guard’s new headquarters and new retail spaces, will encourage even more growth in the area. The Congress Heights Metro Station is located on the Green Line.
