Neighborhood Info:

Capitol Hill is the largest historic district in Washington, located just east of the U.S. Capitol Building. While the neighborhood developed as early as the late 1700s, most current buildings were built in the 1870s. Capitol Hill is among the most architecturally diverse neighborhoods, featuring Federal, Greek Revival, and Italianate styles among others. The neighborhood features dozens of shops and restaurants, highlighted by the recently renovated Eastern Market, the oldest public market in Washington. Capitol Hill is easily accessed on the Blue and Orange Lines at Capitol South and Eastern Market Stations or on the Red Line at Union Station.
